We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on‑call rota. Full training, PPE, use of company equipment and tools will be provided to ensure that all drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.
Position: CCTV Drainage Engineer
Location: Deepham Sewage Treatment Works, North London Region (Enfield, North London)
Job Type: Permanent, full‑time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours a week (3 weeks of days, 1 week of nights)
Salary: OTE £37,800 per annum (basic pay, night premium, overtime and bonuses)

About the Role
Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer‑focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste‑water network and drainage problems.
* Travelling to residential sites in a two‑person crew around the region in our custom‑equipped fleet of high‑tech vans.
* Survey the network of drainage systems.
* Assess pipe conditions to produce high quality reports with the help of state‑of‑the‑art drain surveying equipment.
* Ensure jobs attended are completed.
* Troubleshoot any problems that arise on the job.
* Liaise with the team of Technical Specialists regarding access and equipment issues.
* Ensure safe site set‑up.
* Update the job notes on VISTEC.
* Take photos of the setup, inspection chamber and whole site.
* Deliver good customer service.
* Maintain good H&S practise while carrying out works.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
* Complete any reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, projects or duties as requested by management.

About You
The ideal candidate will be hardworking, respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of OS19X is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. A full UK driver’s licence is essential as both crew members may be required to drive the vehicle.
