Overview
Moat House school and nursery supports students 14-19 years of age (with a specialism in young parents) to access relevant and aspirational qualifications, mental health and wellbeing support and education. Moat House has an Ofsted registered Nursery onsite for the babies of our young parent cohort. Our welcoming, nurturing approach enables students of all abilities and genders to feel safe and have a sense of belonging, allowing them to re-engage with learning.
We are looking for a Support Assistant to work alongside our qualified Teaching, Nursery & Support Staff, who will:
* Be passionate about the education of young people with additional needs, so they achieve their potential
* Be able to relate and form positive relationships with our students, supporting them on a one to one basis or in group sessions
* Supporting our students in activities/work experience
* Be creative and motivated
* Have a flexible approach
Responsibilities
* Support students in activities and work experience as required
* Contribute to a nurturing learning environment and establish positive relationships with students
* Work with teaching and support staff to deliver learning support as needed
Requirements / Qualifications
* An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience of working with children with learning difficulties and disabilities to facilitate their learning
* Experience of working with children in a childcare/residential or educational setting
* Committed to providing high quality delivery that impacts positively upon learning
* The ability to promote the school’s vision, values and achievements
* Be willing to undertake the necessary training as required
Details
Salary: Scale 3 Approx. pro rata salary - £11,828.20 to £12,015.84 per annum
Hours: Term time only Minimum of 20 hours per week, working flexibly Monday-Friday
Contract: Fixed Term (until 31st August 2026 with possibility of this being extended)
