Post Office Manager - Macclesfield
Location: The Co-operative Post Office, Ivy Road, Macclesfield, SK11 8NA
Salary: £28,400 per annum plus great benefits
Contract: Permanent
We’re looking for a post office manager to join our team. Our branches are an integral part of our business and the local community, with over 350 stores across the country offering post office services alongside food retailing.
As a post office manager, you’ll be responsible for the entire post office operation. You should be able to inspire, coach, and foster a collaborative environment with colleagues in both the post office and the store. If you have relevant post office experience and excellent customer service skills, this is a great opportunity to join a business that values people at its core.
What you’ll do:
* Develop, lead, and motivate a team of post office clerks
* Ensure the branch is safe, legal, and operational, complying with all legal and regulatory procedures
* Report on financials, cash, and sales
* Drive commercial growth by engaging the team and communicating performance
* Model excellent customer service for colleagues
* Build enthusiasm within your team and foster external relationships in the local community
* Support and develop strong working relationships with store colleagues
This role would suit people who have:
* Experience managing legal compliance in a post office environment
* Experience working in a fast-paced customer service setting, preferably retail
* Proven team management or supervision experience focusing on development and performance
* Knowledge of Horizon systems, including cash, stock control, and workforce planning tools
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* A focus on continuous improvement and budget management
* A passion for engaging with the local community
