Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. This is a full-time (37 hours) permanent post worked over 08:30–16:30.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the Health for All nursing team in The Aranthrue Centre and across the Renfrewshire area in community and clinic settings.
* Carry out indepth holistic initial and review health assessments for children and young people who are care experienced, including unaccompanied asylum seeking individuals.
* Implement and evaluate care plans for children and young people with a variety of physical health, mental health and social care needs.
* Collaborate with families and carers, local Children’s Houses, social work departments, educational establishments, CAMHS and other health colleagues.
* Demonstrate autonomous practice within a multidisciplinary team, with excellent communication skills and a focus on high-quality service delivery to care experienced children, young people and their families.
* Maintain adult or paediatric nursing registration with relevant experience and ongoing professional development in child protection.
* Note that a driving licence is required and NMC registration is mandatory.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Adult or paediatric nurse trained with experience in care-experienced populations.
* Evidence of understanding the health needs of the care experienced population.
* Continuous professional development in child protection.
* Ability to work independently as an autonomous practitioner within a specialist team.
* Excellent communication skills; experience in multidisciplinary settings.
