One of my key clients in the EV sector is recruiting for a Senior Magnetics Simulation Engineer. The company specializes in the development Convertors, Motors, Controllers, and other specialist equipment for a variety of industries. They offer hybrid WFH and engineers the opportunity to grow within a leading business.
Senior Magnetics Simulation Engineer
Salary: Negotiable
Hybrid WFH: Varied
Location: Norfolk
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, 37 hours per week
Key Skills & Experience:
1. Practical experience in the original design of traction motors for automotive/offroad applications
2. Experience in Motor product DFMEA creation and/or review
3. Ability to run magnetics simulations for complex motor topologies
4. Experience in motor calculations/simulation including ANSYS Maxwell
5. Experience in using ANSYS for FEA calculations
6. Experience creating documentation compliant with UKCA and CE directives
7. Understanding and knowledge of simulation of higher frequency components
8. Understanding and knowledge of Q3D and HFSS for EMC/EMI simulation
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide accurate reports on thermal analysis, magnetic analysis, and NVH analysis on motor topologies
2. Author validation & verification plans and reports for product certification
3. Collaborate with design and development engineers to ensure product requirements are met
4. Mathematical modeling and testing of products for validation
5. Plan and demonstrate correlation between models and test results
6. Organize workloads and manage direct reports
7. Perform tests to validate electronic models and simulations
8. Plan, direct technicians, and build/validate test equipment
9. Create methods, work instructions, and Risk Assessment documents
10. Review standards associated with test procedures
11. Coordinate tests, equipment, and resources in alignment with priorities
12. Work on continuous improvement projects
