Overview:
A leading engineering and manufacturing business in East Kilbride is looking to add an experienced Machine Operator to their team. This is a hands-on role working with a range of conventional machinery, with a particular focus on horizontal boring operations. You'll be joining a company known for its technical expertise, global reputation, and employee ownership model.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Operating a range of machine tools, with a key focus on horizontal boring
* Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings to machine components accurately
* Working to tight tolerances, ensuring high-quality output
* Using lathes, milling machines, drills, and other manual equipment
* Measuring and inspecting your own work to maintain standards
* Assisting with process improvements and standard procedures
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working area
What You'll Need:
* Experience as a Machine Operator or similar in an engineering/manufacturing environment
* Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings
* Skilled in operating a range of manual machine tools
* Strong attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset
Desirable Experience:
* Operating boring machine
* Overhead crane and counterbalance forklift operation
* Awareness of safe working practices in a machine shop
