First Aid Coordinator & Teaching Assistant - The Buckingham School

Location: Buckingham

Term time only

Salary Type: Bucks pay

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 34 Hours per week (08.10-15.30 Monday- Friday, Term Time) 39 Weeks per year, (includes 5 Inset Days)

Interviews to be held: Week Commencing 2nd June 2025

The Buckingham School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic First Aid Coordinator and Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. You will give immediate help to members of the community with common injuries or illnesses, provide administration and monitoring of medical support plans and ensure medical plans for students are in place and shared with staff.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised First Aid qualification, be able to remain calm and be a support in delivering excellent medical support during emergencies to Students and staff. The successful candidate will also engage with working to support students with special educational needs or disabilities in the classroom.

How will you contribute...
● Provide medical assistance to students and staff.
● Provide administrative support, ensuring medical records are accurately maintained
● Support the school by providing medical information where requested
● Deal with medical emergencies when required in a calm and caring manner
● Collaborate with other members of the team to uphold the vision and ethos of the school at all times
● Provide excellent customer service to a range of stakeholders
● To develop an understanding of the specific needs of pupils to be supported
● To ensure the safety of the pupil/s while in your care.

Support the School
● Where appropriate, to foster links between home and school regarding medical issues
● To liaise, advise and consult with other members of the SEN Team
● To participate in relevant professional development
● To be aware of / follow school policies and procedures
● To maintain confidentiality about home- school / pupil- teacher/ school work matters
● To complete any other task as directed by the Headteacher.
