NextGen Consulting is a youth-powered movement helping organisations or companies become places where young people actually want to work. Funded by the Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership, we bring together a mix of young voices to rethink how workplaces operate, from policies and processes to culture and day-to-day vibes.
The focus of the Youth Consultant role is to develop and deliver a youth-proofing consultancy in collaboration with local employers. Youth Consultants will work with organisations to ensure their practices align with the expectations and needs of young people.
As a Youth Consultant you will facilitate workshops to explore what the workplace looks like for young people, identifying key challenges and barriers. The role will also involve gathering youth voice through open consultation events that bring young people and employers together. Insights from these workshops and consultations will be used to review the recruitment, onboarding, induction, and support policies and practices of selected organisations.
Using the evidence gathered from both young people and employers, Youth Consultants will also contribute to the development of resources designed to support employers in creating more youth-friendly workplaces.
Due to the nature of this role, which involves providing insight based on current lived experience of young people entering the workforce, applicants should be aged 16–25. This age range is applied as a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
The closing date for applications is midnight on Monday 23rd March 2026. We do reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications, so we do encourage early application.
