The Vacancy
Location: Merseyside
Salary: £38,377.01 per annum
Hours of work: 40 hours/week, typically Monday – Friday (Flexibility required 24/7). You will be part of a call-out team to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Job Purpose
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. You will be the first point of contact for all maintenance issues at your sites, and may need to request specialist attendance following initial call-out.
The role involves technical repairs and PPMs, ensuring all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date. All work must meet high standards, be efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with Health and Safety legislation.
Key Accountabilities
* Complete the PPM schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all paperwork is accurate.
* Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing and carrying out necessary repairs.
* Prioritize maintenance and repair work to meet response times.
* Maintain fire alarm systems and conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs.
* Follow purchase order procedures.
* Identify faults in plant and machinery, advising the Line Manager with recommendations for replacement if necessary.
* Ensure compliance documentation is maintained.
* Inform site management of repair issues affecting operations.
* Carry out surveys, reports, minor alterations, and installations within technical competence.
* Perform general repairs and maintenance as designated.
* Attend training to keep skills current with technical developments.
* Adhere to Health and Safety policies.
* Represent the company professionally and develop good relationships with colleagues and clients.
* Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota.
* Ensure quality standards are maintained and comply with management instructions.
* Log material spending and handle purchasing responsibilities.
People Responsibility
Supervises AMT on technical works and PPM, maintains good relationships with colleagues and customers, with no direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Minimum GCSE/Standard Grade, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1+2 or equivalent in electrical installation/maintenance.
* City and Guilds 2382 17th or 18th Edition.
* Knowledge of 3-phase electrics and applications.
* Ability to maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g., ovens, dishwashers, microwaves.
* Efficient and quality repairs and maintenance.
* Respond promptly to service requests and complete PPMs on time.
* Maintain health and safety standards.
* Build and maintain positive client and colleague relationships.
