Managing Director – Private Equity Backed Services Business - Onsite Nottinghamshire
We are seeking a commercially sharp, operationally grounded Managing Director to lead a private equity-backed SME through its next stage of growth, professionalisation and value creation.
This is a confidential leadership opportunity with a well-established UK business operating in a service-led environment. The business has a strong platform, loyal customer base and significant opportunity to scale through improved commercial focus, operational discipline and enhanced service delivery.
Private equity experience is essential, as is a proven background running a facilities management, field services, technical services, maintenance, repair or similar people-intensive services business, where teams are deployed in the field to deliver customer-critical work.
Key priorities will include:
* Developing and executing a clear growth strategy
* Driving sales, customer retention and new business development
* Improving operational performance, productivity and margin
* Leading and developing field-based teams and operational management
* Strengthening systems, processes, KPIs and governance
* Working closely with the board and investors on value creation
* Supporting future strategic options, including potential M&A activity
Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
* Essential private equity experience
* Experience as MD, CEO, COO, Divisional MD or senior P&L leader
* A background in facilities management, field services, maintenance, repair, technical services or similar
* Strong commercial and customer-facing capability
* Experience improving operational performance and margins
* The ability to lead change in an SME or mid-market environment
* Confidence working with investors, boards and performance metrics
