Elevation Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a high-performing, well-established FMCG manufacturer seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to take operational ownership of its Finishing department. This is a critical frontline leadership role, responsible for driving performance, safety, quality, and efficiency across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Team Leader include:
* Day-to-day leadership of a small team on shift within the Finishing department, ensuring adherence to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Performance (SQDCP) metrics
* Champion world-class manufacturing standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
* Ensure shift production output meets customer specifications—internally and externally—while maintaining robust quality controls
* Collaborate closely with planning, engineering, and despatch teams to align resources with production demands
* Coach and mentor team members across multiple assets, identifying skills gaps and supporting development
* Conduct shift handovers, manage labour planning, oversee stock accuracy, and ensure waste reduction targets are met
* Maintain strong health & safety practices in line with company and regulatory standards
We’re looking for strong leaders with the below skills & experience:
* Previous experience leading teams in a fast-moving manufacturing or FMCG environment
* Working knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations; IOSH Managing Safely qualification desirable
* Familiarity with continuous improvement tools & lean methodologies
* Competence in using SAP or similar systems for production and stock control
* Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift-based operational challenges
* Effective communicator, capable of engaging cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes
* Adaptability, resilience, and a drive for high performance
