We’re looking for a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join a secondary school in Barnet this September. In this role, you’ll support students with everything outside the curriculum—behaviour, wellbeing, attendance, and those day-to-day challenges that shape young lives.
If you're experienced in mentoring, youth work, or pastoral care—and believe relationships are at the heart of progress—this could be your perfect fit.

What your day might involve:
* Supporting individual pupils with behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing
* Working closely with pastoral leads, safeguarding teams, and families
* Running check-ins, interventions, or restorative conversations
* Being a trusted, reliable adult students can turn to

What we’re looking for:
* Experience working with young people in schools, youth services or similar
* A calm, resilient approach (and a good sense of humour!)
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
* Thrive or mental health training is a bonus (and free if not!)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
