The Senior Lecturer will conduct high-quality research and contribute to educational excellence, especially in computational design and modelling techniques.
Responsibilities
1. Contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and course administration in materials science and engineering.
2. Implement contemporary pedagogical practices, including blended learning.
3. Supervise research students and participate in academic and professional activities.
4. Undertake administrative tasks and communicate effectively with staff and students.
5. Develop an independent, impactful research program, secure research funding, and establish a national research reputation.
6. Mentor students and colleagues, supervise HDRs, and contribute to research networks.
7. Comply with university health and safety policies and demonstrate the university's values.
Qualifications
* PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or relevant discipline.
* Experience with computational techniques such as machine learning, density-functional theory, etc.
* Proven research track record with high-impact publications and funding success.
* Ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and develop innovative curricula.
* Excellent communication and supervision skills.
* Understanding of and commitment to university values and health and safety policies.
Additional Information
Level C salary ($150K - $172K) plus superannuation and leave loading. Fixed-term, 2 years, full-time position. Applications close May 12th, 2025.
