We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Rail Survey Manager to join our dynamic team at Vision Survey as we expand into the Rail Sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build the department from the ground up and lead surveying operations on major rail projects across the UK.

Responsibilities
1. Build and grow the Rail department from the ground up.
2. Manage and lead surveying teams on rail projects, ensuring all tasks meet high standards.
3. Coordinate survey activities, safety measures, and project timelines with project managers and stakeholders.
4. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure data accuracy and adherence to specifications.
5. Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures for all surveying deliverables.
6. Oversee the selection and maintenance of survey equipment and technology.
7. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction.
8. Mentor and train junior surveyors, fostering professional development.
9. Compile and present survey reports to clients and management using AutoCAD and GIS software.
10. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
1. Proven experience within the Rail industry, with a solid understanding of surveying principles and techniques.
2. Effective team management skills, fostering collaboration and communication.
3. Excellent organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
4. Willingness to travel to various sites across the UK.
5. Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Experience with rail projects and knowledge of related regulations and standards.
8. Knowledge of advanced survey technologies, including GNSS, laser scanning, and UAVs.
9. Proficiency with survey software such as CAD and GIS.
10. Degree in surveying, engineering, or a related field.
