Perinatal Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

We are looking for a passionate, innovative and enthusiastic Perinatal Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to undertake a new project improving pelvic health during the child bearing continuum. You will work closely with the Maternity team, including the Pelvic Health Specialist Midwife, and the Women’s Health Physiotherapy team.
The purpose of this role is to lead and support the local implementation of a perinatal pelvic health service (PPHS) designed in collaboration with SHIP Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) and NHS England. A minimum of 0.1 WTE hours per week will be dedicated to the PPHS project, with a specific focus on the education and training programme, in line with the NHS Long Term Plan commitment to improve access to postnatal physiotherapy services for women. The local ambition is that all women receive education and advice around pelvic health and access to Physiotherapy services.
Band allocation: if experience is limited, a Band 6 post will be offered with the intention for development; if experience is sufficient, a Band 7 role will be offered from the outset.
Responsibilities
* Provide highly specialist physiotherapy intervention to patients in the perinatal pelvic health service, assessing and treating own caseload with complex presentations and maintaining associated records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Take on specified management tasks in supporting the implementation of the SHIP LMNS Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS).
* Lead and collaborate in the supervision and teaching of qualified and recently qualified physiotherapists, students, therapy assistants, and multi‑disciplinary team staff.
* Work within the multi‑disciplinary team to provide specialist physiotherapy services.
* Deputise for senior staff in their absence as required.
* Undertake evidence‑based projects, including recommendations for change in practice, and participate in departmental and LMNS PPHS research and audit.
Qualifications – Education & Training
* Professional UK registration (e.g. HCPC).
* Postgraduate training or development in clinical skills in Women’s Health to qualify for POGP membership (PG Cert in continence or women’s health or both preferred).
* Evidence or portfolio of postgraduate continued development.
* Membership of a specialist interest group.
* Specific postgraduate course e.g. prescribing course.
* Certificate/CPD in Management and Leadership, or equivalent.
Qualifications – Experience & Skills
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile.
* Significant post‑registration clinical work and experience in women’s health and pelvic rehabilitation to master’s level.
* Experience undertaking audits or research within practice.
* Experience of staff supervision and mentorship.
* Experience of project management for policy development or large‑scale projects.
* Experience working with multi‑lingual backgrounds.
* Understanding of health environment policies and legislation including clinical, HR, E&D, governance.
* Highly specialised clinical skills across the relevant speciality.
* Advanced communication skills to convey complex, sensitive, or confidential information appropriately; to liaise and negotiate effectively; to understand and disseminate multifaceted information.
* Ability to work and lead within a multidisciplinary team across an organisation; ability to deliver formal and informal learning sessions to all groups of professionals.
* Applies a good understanding of equality and diversity in all areas of work.

£39,959 to £56,515 a year, pro rata.
