Do you enjoy working with clients presenting in acute crisis using the least restrictive practice?

Do you enjoy responding to need as it arises and making psychological intervention accessible? Rather than being burdened by waiting lists.

Would you like to develop your skills in leadership and non direct psychological interventions?

Would you like time and funding for CPD and EMDR training as standard?”

Do you enjoy working as part of a MDT?

Would you like a job that offers flexible working?

Would you like to be part a service that offers opportunity for innovation and development?

If so, we invite your application for the role of Practitioner Psychologist in the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT).

Although the post is full time, applications for part time and flexible working are also encouraged.

Due to a recent promotion a vacant post has become available at the Oleaster centre. You would be joining a small supportive team of four other psychologists.

You would be part of the wider Acute Psychology Service. Psychologists are strongly placed to lead on service development and delivery across all elements of the care pathway. We have an established track record in service innovation and support a diverse range of clinical and academic interests with strong links to university programmes. There is an internal CPD programme that you would have access to and there is substantial additional funding to offer external training in an area of your choosing.

The CRHTTs offer crisis assessment, crisis intervention and brief therapeutic interventions to service users experiencing a significant crisis in their mental health and psychological well being. The CRHTT teams receive a wide breadth of referrals which provides opportunities to work with and a variety of presentations using different therapeutic approaches.

The Role Of The Psychologist In The CRHTTs Includes

* providing and encouraging the use of psychological formulations to inform overall care planning
* offering assessments and brief psychological interventions to service users
* developing the psychological skill set of the multidisciplinary team through provision of training / teaching / supervision /consultation and reflective practice
* liaising with other teams / services to support discharge plans / onward referrals.
* Service development and evaluation / audit

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and skilled clinicians who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a range of clinical services. The individual will have excellent opportunities to gain experience of multilevel and integrated service provision and to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation and the application of evidence based psychological interventions, both individual and in groups.

Welcome to Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Our 4000 clinical and support staff help us to improve mental health wellbeing and meet the needs of the 70,000 people we serve each year. We provide a range of mental healthcare services across Birmingham and Solihull, as well as specialised services nationally. We also offer medical, nursing and psychology training and are proud of our international reputation for both research and innovation.

Our population is culturally diverse, characterised in places by high levels of deprivation which create an increasing demand for our services and a necessity for us to make sure everyone can access the help they need. We are a team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellent care to support our community. If you are looking for a place to belong, where you can make a real difference to people’s lives, join our team where our warm welcome is waiting for you.
