The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Programs Manager to provide a critical role at Beechworth Correctional Centre.
About the Business Unit
The Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility with a focus on preparing individuals for release and successful reintegration back into society. It offers various working industries with the men given the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will effectively link them to employment on release. When not engaged in work, the men attend rehabilitative programs to address their offending behaviour, engage in education and visits whilst many also engage in recreation and community assistance programs.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective delivery of program services to the people in custody at Beechworth Correctional Centre. The Programs Manager will ensure the ongoing development of prison programs in line with legislative requirements, best practice, and prison policy and correctional standards.
As the Programs Manager, some of your duties will include:
* Managing and leading a team of programs staff at Beechworth Correctional Centre.
* Developing, implementing and delivering education and programs to best meet the needs of people in custody.
* Participating as a member of the leadership team and contribute to the development of the relevant policies, strategies and programs.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and delivering a range of educational and vocational programs.
* Demonstrated experience in working with disadvantaged groups or welfare orientated environments.
* Demonstrated ability to build team commitment by using effective tools for achieving positive outcomes.
* Demonstrated understanding of Corrections Victoria and rehabilitation of prisoners.
Qualifications
* A qualification in business, correctional practise, leadership or other relevant experiences/qualifications would be highly regarded.
