As part of Allianz Technology SE's Legal Department, you advise our business in UK & Ireland in all legal areas (except tax law and labor law). You provide business-oriented legal advice to safeguard the interests of the company, ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, and support senior management on legal matters.
You will represent Allianz Technology Legal in UK & Ireland towards external partners and government authorities and will steer external law firms where needed. You will be part of the Legal Region 2 team of Allianz Technology, comprising lawyers across several jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide business-oriented legal advice to management and staff at all levels.
2. Monitor, research, and address legal issues within the company/branch.
3. Draft and review contracts, agreements, corporate documents, resolutions, and legal documentation.
4. Ensure implementation of internal policies.
5. Develop risk mitigation measures and raise awareness.
6. Collaborate with the global Allianz Technology Legal community to develop practices and procedures.
7. Participate in cross-functional teams as needed, aligning with business needs and regulations.
8. Conduct training sessions.
9. Follow legislative processes nationally and internationally, and identify steps for implementation at Allianz Technology SE.
10. Oversee and coordinate external legal counsel when applicable.
Skills & Requirements
1. A strong academic background, preferably with a 2:1 degree or higher, and admitted to practice law in England and Wales (preferably also in Ireland).
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience as an in-house attorney in an international company or as an attorney in an international law firm, focusing on commercial law; knowledge of IT law and supervisory law in insurance is a plus.
3. Good understanding of the business environment and enthusiasm for working in an international setting.
4. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
5. Entrepreneurial spirit and strong organizational skills.
6. Strong negotiation skills and an analytical approach.
7. Ability to work independently and serve as a trusted advisor to local management.
