Job Title: College Support Specialist - Post 16 SEN
We are currently seeking a dedicated College Support Specialist to work within a Post-16 college setting in Chelmsford, supporting learners with SEN and complex needs.
This is a highly rewarding role for individuals passionate about helping young people transition into adulthood, build independence, and access education in a safe and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to Post-16 learners with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex needs
* Support students within classroom settings, vocational areas, and life-skills sessions
* Assist learners to work towards EHCP outcomes and personal development goals
* Support emotional regulation, communication, and positive behaviour
* Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
* Work closely with tutors, therapists, and SEN teams to ensure consistent support
Qualifications
* Experience working with SEN and/or complex needs (education, care, or support background)
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting independence
* Post-16 or college experience is desirable but not essential
