Music Teacher
Maternity Cover from January to August 2026
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and well-qualified Teacher who can teach Music to GCSE and A level. The successful candidate should be a motivated and self-reflective professional who is capable of working independently and as part of a team.
The Music Department, based within a state of the art Performing Arts Centre is a constant hive of activity. Led by the Director of Music, the department is staffed by an Assistant Director of Music, Music Administrator, and a team of 20+ peripatetic instrumental teachers.
You will be required to plan and teach Key Stage 3 Music lessons covering music theory, performance and composition projects across a wide variety of genres, as well as deliver lessons in all modules for AQA GCSE syllabus. A knowledge of Edexcel A Level Music including Bach Chorale Harmony and techniques is highly desirable. As part of this role, you will accompany, rehearse and prepare students for GCSE and A Level performance exams and concerts. Contribution to extra curricular is key and you will assist the Director of Music in the preparation of all the Department's concerts and productions.
