Not-For-Profit Children’s Home – Team Leader Opportunity!

* Job Title: Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker

* Home Type: 4 Bedded EBD home – therapeutic PACE / DDP approach

* Location: Redditch, Worcestershire

* Basic Pay: Up to £17 p/h + £70 per sleep-in

* Overall package: £36,840 - £39,360 p/a (based on 5-8 sleep-ins per month)

* Additional Bonuses: Performance-related bonuses for the whole team!

* Shift pattern: 7:00-22:30, 2 on 4 off pattern.

Who will you be working for?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Residential Childcare Practitioner to start afresh within a newly registered children’s home in Redditch. Whilst this is the company’s first home, the senior management and directorship team have an incredible background with 60+ years’ experience in Children’s Social Care. The Director has 40 years in the industry, is a widely respected senior management consultant, and was previously an Ofsted inspector themselves, so you know standards are high! The RI is qualified in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and is keen on staff also working towards this training to create a truly therapeutic and trauma-informed environment.

The home was recently registered and is looking to add to an already blossoming staff team. They are registered as a 4 Bedded EBD home with a keen focus on PACE and DDP. You will be supporting up to four children aged 7-17 that display complex needs and trauma. The property is purpose built and spacious with a huge garden and plenty of personalisation for the young people that live there.

The Package & Benefits:

* Basic pay: £15.50 - £17 p/h, plus £70 per sleep-in

* Estimated package: £36,840 - £39,360 per annum, based on 5-8 sleep-ins per month

* Shift pattern choice: 2 on 4 off shift pattern, 7am-10:30pm shifts

* Holiday: 5.6 weeks (28 days) of paid annual leave, including bank holidays. On the 2 on 4 off shift pattern, use 2 days and receive up to 10 days off in a row!

What Will The Role Entail?

As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. You will pull from your experience working in children’s homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home and second-to-none delivery of care for young people.

The Successful Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker Candidate Will Excel At:

* Communicating effectively with young people, your colleagues, families, and external professionals. Shift-leading, problem-solving, and being calm under pressure is vital for a Senior.

* Key-working with young people, considering their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, promoting life skills and independence, encouraging them to engage in education, activities, and hobbies. Most importantly, readying them for adult life when they leave care.

* Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments, to name a few.

* Following Ofsted’s regulations related to Quality Standards and understanding safeguarding policies and procedures.

* Understanding the operations of the home regarding Health and Safety, medication administration, cleanliness and finances.

Requirements for the Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker role:

* 2+ years’ experience working specifically within a children’s home environment

* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

* Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

* Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described at the top of the advert, including sleep-ins

* A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people
