We are pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Merchandiser to join our successful Merchandising team at DCK in our Billericay office.
This is a full-time position with a split between home/remote and the office in Billericay.
This is a maternity cover ending July 2025.
You will:
1. Work alongside Buying, Design, and Hosting to define and develop the vision and strategy of the brand; new initiatives must be proposed and planned in line with the critical path.
2. Manage critical path timelines and key milestone deadlines to ensure they are achieved. Manage workload according to your brand's priorities and maintain regular, effective communication with the Merchandise Manager.
3. Drive building blocks and strategy for the department forward with a profitability focus, aligning with DCK and Host Strategy where appropriate.
4. Continuously review the P&L for the department and discuss actions to maximize your brand's potential, using analytics to propose solutions.
5. Use available systems to establish clear and profitable assortment plans, along with BEVs and phasing, balancing newness, consolidated lines, and sell-through, considering sales and profit density.
6. Sign off strategy and budgets with the senior team.
7. Ensure accurate and timely pre-season planning based on strategy and targets. Maximize opportunities and mitigate risks, providing a concise summary and action plan to the business.
8. Quantify building blocks through data and communicate them confidently to the business.
9. Complete seasonal planning, including assortment, option, and range planning, to a high standard, understanding how options, newness, and grading can be optimized for profitability.
10. Maximize space and options at all times, highlighting risks and opportunities with clear action points.
11. Manage seasonal OTB, devising and agreeing on option count and phasing in line with the assortment plan, and communicate with the buying team within deadlines.
12. Set stock requirements to meet sales and profit plans, aligning stock levels with strategy and opportunities, and presenting risks and actions clearly to the Merchandise Manager.
13. Undertake accurate in-season forecasting, reacting to trading conditions, and feeding insights into the planner.
14. Review OTB/OTC requirements, adjusting for reforecasts and current trading, while staying within stock parameters.
15. Highlight margin risks with buying and suggest corrective actions.
16. Gather insights from hosts, such as footfall and customer data, to inform performance and necessary changes.
17. Identify opportunities and utilize analytics for optimization of options, ranging, pricing, stores, and VM, leading buying and partner decisions.
18. Reforecast sales, stock, intake, and markdowns in the WSSI and line cards for review.
19. Manage the team effectively, setting clear priorities and ways of working.
20. Explore all opportunities to drive team success using data and analytics tools.
21. Encourage transparency, accessibility, and clear communication within the team.
22. Coach and provide feedback to team members, fostering their development and preparing them for future roles.
