About the Role
We are looking for a creative and compassionate Art Teacher to deliver GCSE and A:Level Art to students with MLD and moderate ASD at a welcoming specialist school in Finchley Central, North London.
This is a part:time maternity cover position (2 days per week : Thursdays and Fridays), running until the end of the academic year. You will play a key role in inspiring creativity and confidence in students through engaging, differentiated art lessons tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver creative, inclusive Art lessons for GCSE and A:Level students.

Differentiate and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with MLD and ASD.

Support students in developing practical skills, artistic techniques, and confidence in self:expression.
*
Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school and examination requirements.
*
Collaborate with the SEN team and other teaching staff to ensure consistent support and communication.
*
Maintain an encouraging, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a background in Art and Design.
*
Experience teaching GCSE and/or A:Level Art.
*
Experience working with students with SEN, MLD, or ASD preferred.
*
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
*
Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
