At Scottish Water, we look after Scotland's most precious natural resource. From source to tap, we guard Scotland’s reputation for refreshingly pure water and care for our environment.
We are seeking motivated individuals to join the Wick Area Team within Customer Service Delivery.
What you’ll do
You will be part of a motivated multifunctional team committed to enhancing customer experience. This role involves taking ownership of problems, investigating, initiating solutions, and supporting our customers.
Your responsibilities include excavation, maintenance, and repair of water networks, maintaining water network assets such as service reservoirs and pumping stations, and addressing customer-related issues daily.
The role focuses on resolving customer issues and managing any reputational impact on our operations.
As a member of our response team, you will participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, which includes water-related maintenance and choke clearing on sewer networks, among other tasks.
What you’ll bring
You should be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and eager to contribute to team goals. Basic IT skills and report writing abilities are essential.
An understanding of health and safety principles for site work or basic ground skills is required. A full, clean driving license is mandatory, with a Category C1 license and a digger/excavator ticket being advantageous; full training will be provided.
Ground maintenance skills and knowledge of water & sewer networks are desirable, but full training will be provided, including digger and HGV training, and street works.
Looking out for you
We prioritize work-life balance, offering standby responsibilities, potential overtime, 38 days of holiday (including public holidays), with options to buy additional days, and flexible working policies.
We provide a pension scheme, life assurance, annual bonuses, and access to SW Splash rewards for savings on holidays, bills, and shopping.
The not-so-small print
This role is Grade 4, with a starting salary of £27,590, progressing to a maximum of £32,410 based on performance.
Offers are conditional upon pre-employment screening, including references, criminal record, and license checks, conducted with prior permission.
Applications are accepted until midnight on 28th May 2025.
A few final things worth knowing…
If you don’t meet all criteria, apply anyway. We value learning and development, and we accommodate disabilities, neurodiverse conditions, and temporary challenges.
Applicants must be Scottish taxpayers and willing to relocate within three months if not already living in Scotland.
Records of applicants who haven't applied in the last 12 months will be automatically deleted.
