Main duties

As a board member you will:

• Work with Executive and Non‑Executive Directors to constructively challenge and support strategy development.
• Scrutinise performance of the management team against agreed goals.
• Ensure robust financial controls and risk‑management systems.
• Provide oversight of policies and governance.

You will be expected to be available for around 3 days each month, potentially more during the first few months.

Qualifications

We are looking for a compassionate leader with:

• Senior leadership experience in the private, public or voluntary sector.
• A good understanding of the NHS, especially Hospital Foundation Trusts.
• Preferably a clinical background such as nursing, medicine, mental health, pharmacy, radiography, allied health or healthcare science.

We will also consider individuals who bring relevant skills and experience even if they do not fit the preferred specification.
