The Role:
Reporting into the sales function, you will play a key role in supporting customer project enquiries by developing accurate, competitive and technically sound proposals. This is a varied role that combines mechanical engineering expertise with commercial awareness, working closely with sales, engineering and customers throughout the full bid lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
* Review RFQs and interpret customer requirements
* Develop technical solutions with engineering teams
* Select equipment and source costs for materials/services
* Prepare accurate, costed proposals and quotations
* Ensure bids are delivered on time and within budget
* Support customer meetings, contract handover, and project coordination
* Assist with sales admin and identify new opportunities
Essential criteria:
* 5+ years experience in proposals/tendering or sales engineering
* Mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience
* Background in heavy/complex engineered systems or machine build
* Experience producing technical, costed proposals
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness
* Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD/Inventor preferred
* Detail:oriented, self:motivated, and customer:focused
