The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the project design process with a designated design team. They will be competent in the security design process in the commercial environment and be able to meet a design programme. They will have a strong understanding of security systems and be able to work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* An initial understanding of the CAD process and effective file management.
* Support and guide the design team and external partners throughout the entire design journey.
* Review and validate designs at each designated checkpoint.
* Act as the main point of contact for design projects, actively engaging with stakeholders.
* Take the initiative on all engineering elements of the designs.
* Serve as a key resource on the technical facets of designs.
* Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
* Effectively manage your schedule to align with project deliverables, business objectives, and client requirements.
* Review, create, and verify all essential documents for a design, such as system specifications, bills of materials, and detailed schedules.
* Demonstrate the ability to develop a compliant security system design that meets all specified requirements.
* Continuously explore and assess new and evolving technologies relevant to security.
* Conduct site visits before, during, and after design phases, which may include international locations.
* Perform site visits to compare our designs against real-world environments and to enhance understanding of practical settings in relation to design concepts. This may include sites overseas.
* Join site visits for quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of installation work based on Evolution designs, providing directives when necessary through collaboration with assigned integrators and/or contractors.
* Participate in site visits when RFIs necessitate justification or require an on-site examination.
* Capture and document insights to maintain a "lessons identified" register, collaborating with the wider business to enhance focused delivery and development.
* Collaborate with the larger design team to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
* Attend all design sync calls, both externally and internally, taking minutes as needed.
* Maintain all current and future certifications held.
* Work closely with other departments to uphold standards and deliverables through transparent communication.
* Foster strong working relationships with third-party suppliers supporting Evolution Design.
Requirements
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* Attention to detail in fast-paced environment.
* Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
* At least 2 years of experience with Access Control, Intruder Alarm, and IP CCTV systems is required.
* Experience working with enterprise security systems is essential, including but not limited to CCure, Lenel/S2, Gallagher, Genetec, and Honeywell.
* Basic understanding of network topology and parameters for design.
* Knowledge of survey techniques and handling of site survey data.
* Basic understanding of CAD use.
* Strong communication and presentations skills.
Non-Essential:
* Previous design experience is advantageous.
* A basic understanding of the RIBA 8-stage design process.
* Use of multiple design management systems, for example BIM360/REVIT/NAVIS Works
