Setting: Secondary Alternative Provision
A specialist Alternative Provision is seeking a dedicated and resilient Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a rewarding opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis with a student who requires tailored support due to additional learning needs and social, emotional or behavioural challenges. The provision caters for pupils who may not be able to access mainstream education, providing them with an inclusive, supportive and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Delivering 1:1 support for a secondary-aged student with additional needs
* Assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation and engagement in lessons
* Using behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes
* Building trust and strong relationships to help pupils re-engage with education
* Working alongside teachers, SEN staff and external agencies to follow personalised support plans
* Supporting social skills, independence and resilience development
What We\'re Looking For
* Experience working with SEN or SEMH pupils in a school or alternative provision setting (essential)
* Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, supportive approach
* Ability to adapt strategies to suit individual needs
* A patient, resilient and empathetic nature
* Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable)
