Job Description
Join our team in Scarborough, United Kingdom, as a Porter/Catering Assistant for a part-time, term-time position. We're looking for an efficient and customer-focused individual to support our catering operations on Friday- Saturday, Sunday and Mondays. 10.30 - 19.00 rate of pay £12.21 per hour
* Assist in food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene
* Serve meals and refreshments to students, staff, and visitors
* Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, dining rooms, and equipment
* Transport food, supplies, and equipment between kitchen and service areas
* Operate basic kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness
* Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
* Provide excellent customer service to all patrons
* Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
* Support catering events and special functions as needed
* Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, supportive attitude
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
* Ability to work weekends and Mondays from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM during term time
* Strong time management and organizational skills
* Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff
* Previous experience in catering or food service preferred
* Food safety certification preferred
* Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities
* Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
