Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Endoscopy team within the Glan Clwyd Hospital. You will work alongside the nursing staff, Doctors, the public, management and staff from internal and external sources through the provision of clerical duties. High levels of customer service and excellent communication/interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to use your own initiative to solve problems as they arise. You will have experience in an administrative role preferably with the public and be competent in IT in the workplace. Attention to detail and accurate data capture is paramount.
Role – Endoscopy Booking Clerk
Hours – 1 x 25 hours
Note – Welsh to be learnt within 12 months.
Main duties / responsibilities
* Demonstrate and embed the Values and Behaviour Statements in daily working life and embed the principles into the culture of the organisation.
* Provide clerical support to the Endoscopy service, liaising with nursing staff, doctors, patients and external partners.
* Deliver high-quality customer service and effective communication, ensuring accurate data capture and filing in line with organisational standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential criteria
* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & telephone).
* Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with clinicians, senior managers and clerical staff.
* Good keyboard/IT skills for regular use of computer systems.
* Ability to concentrate on administrative duties in a busy, sometimes unpredictable environment with interruptions.
* Welsh speaking at minimum level 3.
Desirable criteria
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and similar PAS systems.
* Competent in the use of WPAS Patient Administration System.
* Experience of working in a hospital and with the general public.
* Experience of working directly with clinical staff; previous waiting list management; hospital-based clerical experience.
Education & Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English A–C
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience
* IT qualification or proven experience using Microsoft Office packages
* Desirable: ECDL
