Gynaecology at the Norfolk and Norwich university Hospital covers an inpatient ward, out patient’s department and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. Cley ward is a dynamic and well supported gynaecology and female surgical ward with a busy turnover of patients. We take our own direct emergency admissions, and we are committed to delivering the highest standard of patient care.
We are looking to employ a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic registered nurse to join our expanding and dynamic team with a commitment to delivering the highest standard of patient care.
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register
• Completion of the Mentor Preparation Programme
• Post registration qualification relevant to the clinical area
• Work towards a health related degree
Knowledge and experience:
• Experience within women’s health
• Experience within gynaecology, desirable
Skills and Attributes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform staff appraisals
• Organisational and time management skills
• Support and manage non-registered staff
• Provide and promote a high standard of professional care at all times whilst upholding and influencing professional and Trust values
Shifts to include early, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

• Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and work within limits of competence.
• To have successfully completed the Trust’s preceptorship programme.
• Maintain a high standard of nursing care applying evidence-based practice.
• Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care without supervision.
• To manage the ward/department environment and staffing in the absence of a senior member of staff.
• To take responsibility for bed management in the absence of a more senior member of staff.
• Effectively assess and delegate workload according to staff competencies in order to meet patient needs.
• Maintain Continuous Professional Development in line with Trust Policy and professional bodies.
• Ensure own practice is up to date and evidence-based and demonstrate an awareness of current, relevant research.
