GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint a Speech & Language Therapist to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Horncastle. Role of an Arts Teacher:
* Speech & Language Therapists assess students referred to them for speech, language, and communication difficulties. They conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine the nature and severity of the communication disorder, often involving standardized tests, informal observations, and interviews with teachers and parents.
* Based on assessment findings, SLTs develop individualized intervention plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals. These plans outline therapeutic targets, intervention strategies, and the frequency and duration of therapy sessions.
* Speech & Language Therapists provide direct intervention to students through individual or group therapy sessions. These sessions may focus on improving speech articulation, language comprehension and expression, social communication skills, fluency, voice quality, and other areas of communication.
* Speech & Language Therapistcollaborate closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and other school staff to support students with communication difficulties in the classroom. They provide recommendations and strategies for modifying classroom activities, adapting teaching methods, and creating a communication-friendly environment.
* Speech & LanguageTherapists may provide training and professional development sessions for school staff on topics related to communication disorders, language development, and strategies for supporting students with communication difficulties in the classroom.
The successful candidate will:
* You'll need to have a recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy from an accredited institution. This degree should meet the standards set by the Health and Care Professions Council.
* Some employers may require you to have professional indemnity insurance to cover any potential liability while working as a Speech & LanguageTherapist.
* Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
* Are passionate about supporting the learning and development of student and making a positive difference in their lives.
