We’re looking for a Housing Options Officer to join our busy and committed Housing Options team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis, covering an employee who has been seconded to another team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact while gaining valuable experience within a supportive and professional service.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting people at some of the most challenging moments in their lives, helping to prevent homelessness, exploring alternative housing solutions, and providing clear, compassionate advice.
What you’ll be doing
* Delivering high‑quality housing advice and support to people in housing need
* Working proactively to prevent homelessness wherever possible
* Completing assessments under homelessness legislation, including Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996
* Making lawful, well‑reasoned homelessness decisions in line with legislation, guidance and case law
* Building strong partnerships with internal teams and external agencies
* Managing complex and sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
* Taking part in an out‑of‑hours rota to ensure support is available when needed
