Specialist SEN School – Burnley – Up to £600 per week – Full-Time

A specialist SEN school in Burnley is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering careers in Educational Psychology, Therapy, Social Work, or SEN Education.
The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions to help them access learning and develop positive behaviours.
A key aspect of this Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting behaviour management, using structured and consistent strategies to help pupils regulate emotions and remain engaged in lessons. You will build strong, trusting relationships and act as a positive role model, providing stability, encouragement, and clear expectations.
You will work with pupils with needs including SEMH, ADHD, Autism, and trauma-related behaviours, supporting both their academic progress and personal development.

Ideal Candidate – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
6. Graduate (2:1 or above preferred, Psychology desirable)
7. Resilient, confident, and comfortable managing challenging behaviour
8. Experience in SEN, youth work, sports coaching, or care highly desirable
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
10. Passion for supporting vulnerable young people
