Proposed salary range: Up to £33,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Are you bursting with creativity? Full of ideas? We have a great opportunity for a talented producer to come and help us tell memorable stories from people across Lancashire. We want someone who can create audio that gets people talking! Youll be a self-starter, who knows how to find the best content and guests. As well as delivering audio content, youll also need to think about how stories and ideas can travel to other platforms. A knowledge of Lancashire would be an advantage, but were mainly looking for someone with great ideas and experience of creative audio production.
Main Responsibilities
* You’ll be a content producer working on different programmes on BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Sounds.
* You’ll be pitching ideas, stories and guests and helping to plan audio content.
* You’ll work with production teams to make creative ideas come to life.
* You’ll work on a shift basis – including some early and late shifts as well as weekend working.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
* Recent experience of audio production - demonstrating a good knowledge of creative production techniques.
* Ability to come up with and develop new, creative and diverse ideas.
* Effective planning and organisation skills - delivering consistently to deadlines.
* Sound editorial judgement – showing a clear understanding of the BBCs values.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* On-air and set-up production of BBC Radio Lancashire programmes.
* Exercise editorial judgment in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism.
* Use a range of video, audio and digital equipment and information technology to research, write, assemble, edit and deliver outputs in the appropriate medium, to the highest professional standards.
* To prioritise and plan activities taking into account all the relevant issues and factors such as deadlines, staffing and resources available.
