Job Opportunity: Janitor (Cramlington)
We are seeking a self-motivated Janitor to join our team in Cramlington for a 6-month contract. This onsite role is essential for maintaining the high standards of our facility through daily cleaning and general maintenance.
Role Overview
Pay Rate: £15.18 per hour
Duration: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 37.50 hours per week
Shift Pattern: B shift: 4 on 4 off
Location: Onsite in Cramlington
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Upkeep: Perform daily cleaning of laboratories, washrooms, offices, hallways, and cafeteria areas.
Facility Maintenance: Manage waste disposal, recycling, dusting, window cleaning, and polishing fixtures.
Special Projects: Complete floor stripping and waxing, and clean air diffusers and exhaust grills.
Exterior Care: Maintain building exteriors, including debris removal, walkway sweeping, and snow removal/salting during winter.
Inventory & Supplies: Regularly replenish facility dispensers (soap, paper, garments) and maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies.
Porter Duties: Occasionally assist with relocating furniture, boxes, and workstations.
Requirements & Competencies
Experience: Previous experience in a cleaning or maintenance role is required.
Communication: Proficiency in English with good oral and written communication skills.
Work Style: Ability to work with minimal supervision and act as a reliable team player.
Physicality: Comfortable with routine, repetitive tasks and occasional exposure to dust, fumes, or temperature extremes.
Assets: Experience in a pharmaceutical or food processing environment and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are considered major assets.
Additional Information
Dress Code: Casual dress with Hi-viz and safety boots.
Compliance: Successful candidates must pass a standard background check.
