Electrical Supervisor
CONTRACT TYPE
Ongoing (Long-term opportunity – potential up to 8 years, subject to annual performance review)
LOCATION
Barbican Exhibition Hall One, Golden Lane
WORKING PATTERN
* 45 hours per week (Day shifts)
* 10-hour shifts (Nights)
* Significant overtime potential available. Previous operatives have worked predominantly out of hours, offering strong earning opportunities.
PAY RATE
* £32.50 per hour (Weekdays
* Time and a third - Nights
* Time and a third - Saturdays
* Time and a half - Sundays
THE ROLE
The Electrician will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical installation, maintenance, and testing works within a commercial exhibition environment.
You will ensure all electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current regulations and site-specific health & safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Carry out electrical installations in line with drawings and specifications
* Install containment systems, wiring, lighting, and power distribution
* Perform upgrades, modifications, and remedial works as required
* Testing & Compliance
o Ensure all works comply with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
o Conduct testing and fault-finding activities
o Complete relevant certification and documentation accurately
* Site Safety & Standards
o Adhere strictly to health & safety procedures
o Maintain a clean and organised work area
o Coordinate effectively with site management and other trades
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Essential)
* Gold or Black JIB Card (Essential)
* Triple SDS or SMSDS (Essential)
* Proven experience on commercial electrical projects
* Strong understanding of health & safety compliance
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* High attention to detail and professional workmanship
