InterimDisrepair Surveyor

£300 - £350 per day (Umbrella)
A South London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Disrepair Surveyor to join a busy, high-profile Disrepair Team.
Reporting to the Disrepair Manager, you will take ownership of disrepair cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake property inspections to diagnose disrepair issues and specify remedial works
* Raise works orders and manage contractors through to completion
* Carry out pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections, and post-completion checks
* Project manage disrepair works, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
* Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality standards are met
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations
* Act as a key point of contact for tenants, providing clear communication and support throughout works
* Coordinate and oversee temporary decants where required
* Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Legal and Tenancy teams
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in property maintenance or building surveying
* Strong technical knowledge of building defects and repairs
* Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation within property maintenance
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Strong organisational and project management abilities
* Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable
* Previous experience in disrepair (training can be provided)
* Experience within the Social Housing sector
* Background in managing major repairs or planned works
