Receptionist / Cashier - Admin & Clerical Location: 60 Cecil St, Newry, BT35 6AU | Hours: 18.25 per week | Employment Type: Temporary | Rate: £14.07 per hour (PAYE) Hatched Recruitment is supporting Newry, Mourne and Down District Council in recruiting a Receptionist / Cashier to provide a welcoming first point of contact at the Council's recreational facilities. This role combines front-line reception duties with cash handling and general administrative support. Key Responsibilities: Provide reception services, including operating the switchboard and directing enquiries. Handle cash payments and associated administrative processes, ensuring compliance with council procedures. Maintain booking systems and diaries, following up on requirements and unpaid bookings. Assist with administrative tasks such as typing, filing, photocopying, and Microsoft Office applications. Support the promotion and upkeep of Council literature and notices. Administer quality systems, including document control, complaint forms, and customer feedback. Monitor security and safety within reception areas, including alarm systems and access control. Liaise with staff, supervisors, and external suppliers regarding bookings and facility issues. Provide cover for other clerical or reception staff as required. Assist with accounts payable, invoice requisitions, and stock management of hire equipment. Candidate Requirements: Previous experience in a reception or customer-facing role. Experience handling cash, bookings, and administrative duties. Competent in Microsoft Office and general IT systems. Strong communication and organisational skills. Flexible, professional, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Additional Information: Temporary contract, part-time 18.25 hours per week. Based at 60 Cecil St, Newry, BT35 6AU.
