The Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be embedded within one of our key support programmes and be integral to achieving high-performance delivery of technical and inventory support to the UK Submarine Fleet. This is your chance to contribute to projects that protect national security while developing your career in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
1. Managing scheduling, cost control, risk management, and procurement activities.
2. Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple disciplines to drive project delivery.
3. Supporting manufacturing and delivery stages for submarine weapon systems.
4. Maintaining momentum across complex projects with tight deadlines.
5. Driving continuous improvement and adapting to change effectively.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager
6. Strong stakeholder management and experience in a project management environment
7. Proven ability to collaborate and work in partnership
8. Comfortable working to tight deadlines and schedules
9. Adaptable and committed to continuous learning and improvement
Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager
10. PFQ and/or PMQ qualification or equivalent (desirable)
11. Other formal project management qualifications will be considered
