Your role
As a Service Engineer at Kinder-Janes Engineers Ltd, your responsibilities will include:
* Effectively diagnosing faults on customer equipment.
* Undertaking planned and preventative maintenance on pumps & systems.
* Performing emergency breakdown fault finding and repair, and advising on root causes and prevention where possible.
* Commissioning pumps and systems, both positive displacement and centrifugal.
* Recommending additional works and upgrades to assist customers or enhance performance and reliability.
* Maintaining good professional relationships with existing and new customers, promoting after-sales opportunities.
* Completing work reports, timesheets, job sheets, and recommendations neatly and submitting them timely, in accordance with procedures. Completing risk assessments and method statements before work, and complying with site health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Providing internal and external technical support, including attending customer and manufacturer sites in the UK and overseas as necessary.
* Responding promptly to all communications, providing accurate information to support excellent customer service, and involving others as appropriate.
* Operating and maintaining company administrative systems, including enquiry, order, and customer databases. Performing duties in accordance with HS&E procedures, QMS processes, and Employee Handbook.
To succeed, you will need:
* An appropriate apprenticeship or similar background; experience with rotating equipment is preferred.
* Numeracy and good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* IT competence (e.g., Word, Excel, Lotus Notes).
* Good product and technical knowledge (manufacturer training).
* Current BOSIET and Offshore Medical certifications are advantageous but not essential.
* Willingness to travel for OEM product training (local/international) and onshore/offshore servicing and commissioning.
* Ability to communicate and cooperate with colleagues across all areas to support efficiency and professionalism.
* A clean driving license is essential.

Job location
This role will primarily cover the UK, mainly at our workshop in St Albans, with some travel to UK sites and offshore.
