Estates Electrician plus R&R

Band 4 £27,485 - £30,162 per annum plus 30% R&R
Hours 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
We are looking for an experienced electrician to join our on-site engineering team, with a background in commercial electrical support and experience of plant such as Air Handling Units (AHUs), chillers, electrical control systems, pumps, and motors. NHS experience is not essential; full supplementary training will be provided. Full details can be found in the attached Job Description and Person Specification documents.
Please note: This role includes the responsibility of being a member of the on-call team which operates out of hours (currently 1 in 5). Full training and mentoring will be provided.
During the initial period, core hours are Monday to Friday; future shift patterns may include weekend work with supplements.

Key responsibilities
* To perform electrical maintenance, repair, and installation work, including technically intricate and/or non-routine activities.
* Fire Alarm Weekly Testing.
* Emergency Lighting Testing and Repairs.
* Generator Testing.
* Boiler Plant Treatment checks.
* Passenger Lift Release.
* Nurse Call Systems repairs and reset.
* Air Handling Units – Electrical Fault Finding.
* Sterilisation HTM 01-01 (2010) training to become a Competent Person.
* Undertake day-to-day planned preventive maintenance duties and repairs, checks and testing of the complete spectrum of building services.
* As appointed Competent Person (Low Voltage) for the Trust to manufacture, assemble and install new equipment as necessary, estimate material requirements, diagnose and repair faults, and plan workloads. Carry Trust communication devices (two-way radio and electronic tablet) to facilitate emergencies and updates to reactive & PPM tasks.

Qualifications and knowledge
Essential
* City & Guilds 236 Part 2 or equivalent
* Qualified to IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition BS 7671:2018
Desirable
* BTEC, ONC in Electrical Engineering
Experience
Essential
* Completion of a structured training programme in electrical engineering (minimum three years, two years on site)
* Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
* Knowledge of Electrical Distribution, Standby Generators, Fire Alarm Systems, Building Management Systems
* Full driving license (DVLA recognised)

* Experience of working in an Acute Hospital environment
* Knowledge of HTMs and BS - EN
