Overview
Al-Khair Secondary School is seeking an experienced and passionate Maths Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching to secondary students (ages 11–16). The role involves planning, teaching, and assessing lessons in line with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 objectives, supporting students’ academic progress and personal development, and contributing to a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Teach Maths in line with curriculum objectives, devising yearly, termly, and weekly plans
* Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning
* Develop appropriate teaching strategies and resources for diverse learners
* Record and report student progress, set and mark homework
* Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, parents’/carers’ evenings, and school events
* Supervise and engage students in extracurricular activities, trips, and clubs
* Cover classes as required, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
* Prepare students for qualifications and external examinations
* Undertake pastoral duties as required, including acting as a form tutor
* Liaise with learning mentors, career advisers, educational psychologists, and other professionals
* Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Degree in Mathematics or a related subject
* Strong knowledge of the DfE National Curriculum for secondary Maths
* Excellent lesson planning, teaching, and assessment skills
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
* Ability to create engaging, inclusive, and dynamic lessons
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity
