A respected law firm in Walsall is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its head office finance team. The ideal candidate must have 2–3 years’ experience in legal finance, a strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and enjoys supporting the firm’s day-to-day financial operations.
The Role
* Handling client payments both in person and over the phone
* Monitoring incoming funds and allocating payments to the correct client ledgers
* Preparing and completing daily banking
* Producing weekly new-matter reports for department heads
* Processing cheque requests through the case management system
* Compiling time and ledger breakdowns for client distribution
* Reviewing and processing completion statements and invoices
* Supporting the finance manager and practice director with other finance-related tasks
About You
* 2–3 years’ experience in a law firm finance department
* Strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient IT skills, including strong Excel knowledge
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure
