Looking for a Private Sector Housing Officer based in Staffordshire to assist the local authority during a period of restructuring and increased service demand. This is a 6-month contract aimed at stabilising the housing enforcement team following the departure of a permanent officer. You'll be expected to work across: Investigating housing condition complaints HHSRS inspections and enforcement Issuing improvement and prohibition notices Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) Liaising with landlords and tenants to ensure compliance This is a full-time role (37 hours per week), with a mix of property inspections and office-based duties. Flexibility is available for the right candidate, particularly around remote working and scheduling. Essential criteria: Experience in housing enforcement and HHSRS assessments Strong knowledge of housing legislation and landlord responsibilities EHORB registration or a relevant housing qualification will secure you a spot at the interview stage.
