⭐About the Role
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a resilient, empathetic, and committed Trainee SEN (Special Education Needs) Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for young people aged 3-19 with a range of disabilities and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, as each day can bring new challenges and changes. You’ll be working across various key stages, supporting pupils who may struggle to engage in a typical classroom environment. Your role will be to help them feel safe, understood, and capable of progress.
We’re looking for someone with a calm and patient approach, who can build positive relationships and apply effective de-escalation techniques when needed. The ability to remain composed under pressure is essential in helping pupils feel supported and ready to learn.

* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviours
* Resilient, patient and understanding attitude
* Support pupils with mobility and sensory needs where required.
* Deliver consistent 1:1 and small group support during lessons and daily activities tailored to individual pupil need
* The ability to implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour effectively
* A commitment to encouraging the pupil’s engagement, confidence, and emotional development
* Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Requirements
Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* An Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
* Level 2 Safeguarding training
* At least two professional references covering the past two years
