Remedy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN - Secondary Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic about supporting KS3 & 4 pupils. This role requires you to use initiative and reinforcement techniques as your 1:1 has Autism and is prone to challenging behaviour. You will be supporting this pupil in a sensory hub, where the child will be using PECS to improve their academic learning. There may be an element of personal care as the student is wheelchair-bound.
SEN - Secondary Teaching Assistant | Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
* Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
* Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
