Head of Highways and Transport Role in Swindon | Ackerman Pierce
Ackerman Pierce seeks a Head of Highways and Transport Manager to join their team in Swindon. This exciting opportunity is initially for 3-6 months, with potential for extension based on performance and internal circumstances. Local Authority experience is highly desirable.
Local Authority experience will be preferred.
To Lead, plan and be responsible for the Highways and Transport department that support and underpin the successful delivery of corporate priorities and outcomes.
Ensure the development and delivery of continuous improvements in all aspects of the service. Manage and control the planning and implementation of improvements which impact the professional service and Council.
* responsibilities for large revenue and staff budgets and locally funded capital investment programmes.
* that the Council’s statutory duties as the local highway, traffic and street authority are effectively discharged and that the Council meets its obligations under the Traffic Management Act, Highways Act, New Roads and Street Works Act, Road Traffic Act and Countryside and Rights of Way Act.
* and manage the delivery of an annual programme of significant Capital projects that underpin the priorities of the Council.
* in the capacity of deputy to the Corporate Director of Inclusive Economy and Sustainability and support the Director in providing overall strategic leadership to the Directorate.
