This is a unique opportunity to step into a role where your accounting expertise directly supports the fascinating intricacies of their business—from managing royalties for creative partners to reconciling inventory of limited-edition collections.
What you'll do:
In this varied and pivotal role, you will be essential to their finance team's success. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Owning the Month-End: Taking full responsibility for the preparation of all month-end duties, including journal postings, accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
* Mastering Reconciliations: Performing meticulous monthly reconciliations for our unique stock accounts (including rare and collectable inventory), GIT (Goods in Transit), and complex inter-company accounts.
* The Heart of their Business: Utilising your high statistical and mathematical skills for the accurate calculation of partner and licensing royalties—a critical and valued function that supports our creative partnerships.
* Driving Financial Integrity: Reviewing and analysing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and robustness of all financial records.
* Expert Reporting: Preparing ad-hoc management reports and ensuring all reporting is delivered accurately and on time.
* Managing Compliance: Taking charge of the end-to-end preparation of VAT returns for timely review and submission.
* Team Support: Supporting the team by covering ad-hoc duties and contributing to a collaborative environment.
What you'll bring:
We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated individual who thrives in a detailed-oriented environment.
* A qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
* At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, ideally within e-commerce, retail, or a product-based company.
* A high-level of proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) is essential for managing complex data.
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
* A razor-sharp attention to detail—essential when dealing with limited edition product numbers and royalty agreements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A distinct advantage: Proficiency in the German language would be highly beneficial for supporting our European operations.
