Sumitomo Electric U.K. Power Cables Ltd. (SEUK-CL) is currently looking for 2 enthusiastic individuals to join our project and become part of our future as we strive to make a significant contribution towards the UK Net Zero Target and become a centre of excellence for renewable energy and technologies.

Position Details
* Level: 6/7
* Delivery: Full-time on campus in the first year, then work-based
* Start: August
* Duration: 4 Years
* First Year Salary: £8.50 per hour plus benefits
Course Content
This course combines work-based training with a nationally recognized qualification, allowing students to gain practical experience while earning. Engineering is a diverse and fast-moving industry, with various occupational routes tailored to meet company needs and develop high competency levels.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving the SVQ 3 qualification at SCQF level 6/7.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have Standard Grade at 4 or above, or Intermediate 1, or National 5 passes in English, Maths, Science, and Craft/Design Technology.
About Our Project in Port of Nigg, Highland
Sumitomo Electric is a leading global manufacturer of high-end electricity transmission cables, including 525kV HVDC cables. The new factory in Nigg, with a £350M investment from the Scottish Government, aims to support the UK Net Zero Target by providing critical infrastructure for renewable energy, including offshore wind. The factory will create over 180 skilled jobs in the Scottish Highlands and utilize local supply chains for cable production and transmission system construction.
The construction of this subsea transmission cable factory enhances the UK green energy supply chain, supplying essential components to reinforce the UK electricity grid and connect renewable energy sources to consumers.
